Bentwood Apprenticeship and North of Hope have teamed up to offer an exciting summer internship opportunity for college students! This internship will help prepare you to be a leader in the ministry that God has called you to, and will provide a cross-cultural ministry experience.

Mission Statement: We go into the mission field, discover what God is doing, and we join Him there. We equip and prepare emerging leaders through devotion to God, love for others, and putting our hands to practical service, learning, and growth.

The Purpose of our summer internship is: leadership development, discipleship, and cross cultural ministry experience. While serving in Alaska our interns will:

  1. Serve – 1 Peter 4:10
  2. Learn – Proverbs 1:7, Col 1:9-10
  3. Grow – Hebrews 10:24-25

Serve: Our interns will be serving with several Foursquare ministries in Alaska including: North of Hope (the ministry of Foursquare missionaries Rod & Teresa Koop), Bentwood Apprenticeship (our school of ministry), and Skyline Foursquare Church.

  1. North of Hope: Interns will assist and be a part of missions teams who will be serving on Prince of Wales Island as well as the Kenai Peninsula. Duties may include one or more of the following: cooking for teams, assistance with construction projects, subsistence gathering, including herring eggs, halibut, salmon, and beach asparagus (food for Alaska native villages).

  2. Bentwood Apprenticeship: Interns will serve alongside Bentwood’s Director, Laura Anderson, in various capacities throughout Alaska. Laura is one of the Interns’ mentors/supervisors.

  3. Skyline Foursquare Church: Interns will assist with Sunday morning service which may include: Worship & Media, Children’s Ministry, and Hospitality. Interns will also join the summer missions team that will be serving families (making improvements to their homes) in the Anchorage community. Interns may also cook meals for the team. Interns will also serve Skyline through various projects around their building (painting, etc.). Additional service opportunities may include working with the ministries of Beacon Hill and Downtown Soup Kitchen.

In addition to the above service projects, interns will also receive instructions in church planting basics, study cross cultural ministry (specifically ministry in Alaska), and spend time with mentors.
